Basic concepts (edit)

1111 or send 1111 (or ride / just ride) refers to the tactics in house rallies where the rally leader may ask you to send only minimal army into the rally. This often happens particularly if your troops are lower tier than the rest of rally.

When configuring your troops, only add a single unit of each troop type:

  • 1 bow
  • 1 cavalry
  • 1 infantry
  • 1 spear

Why 1111[edit | edit source]

For new players (well frankly, also for many older players), it can be surprising how/why sending of fewer troops can actually help win battles. Well, this is related to how combat in GOTM works. Apparently, what matters when determining whether you win or lose, is the number of dead troops on either side. The side with fewer dead troops wins. Low-tier troops die easily, therefore, lot of low-tier troops is counterproductive.

Another reason is that in combat, each troops are taking turns: one enemy troop attacks one ally troop. If you have multiple 1111 cannon fodder troops, these can take the punishment, keeping your main troops intact.

X111[edit | edit source]

A very similar mechanic can be also used in solo play. When forming your armies, add your main troop (for example, bows). Completely fill your army (up to your max army size), except add one unit of infantry, one cavalry, and one spear.
